Woonsocket Police Seek Man For Firing Handgun At Car On Pond Street Sunday

Gunshots caused Pond Street crash, chase from scene ended in second crash.

 

Woonsocket Police are asking the public's help in finding Anthony Lacoste, 21, with a last known address on Church Street, wanted on multiple felony charges after allegedly firing a handgun at a vehicle on Pond Street Sunday afternoon, causing it to crash into a telephone pole.

At about 3:38 p.m., police responded to the area of Pond Street for a report of shots fired, according to a release from the Woonsocket Police Department. When officers arrived, they found a white 1999 Honda, driven by James Lambert Jr., had struck a telephone pole and had two bullet holes in it.

Then, at about 3:43 p.m., police responded to River Street and Fairmount Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles, a red 2002 Dodge operated by Christopher Lambert and a blue 2001 Jeep operated by LaCoste.

An investigation revealed James Lambert, Christopher Lambert, and Anthony LaCoste had been at Executive Car Wash on Privilege Street. After an argument, all three left the car wash in separate vehicles. LaCoste allegedly pulled a handgun and shot at James Lambert Jr.’s vehicle, causing him to crash into the telephone pole.

Christopher Lambert chased Lacoste’s vehicle, resulting in the crash at River Street and Fairmount Street, according to police reports. There were no reported injuries from either crash.

Woonsocket Police have an arrest warrant for Anthony LaCoste for multiple felony charges. They ask anyone who has seen LaCoste or has information to call 401-766-1212 or the department's anonymous tip line at 401-769-4444.
