Cercle Laurier Club Donates $500 To Cops Walk

Annual relay supports families of officers killed in line of duty.

The Cercle Laurier Club of Woonsocket recently presented a five hundred dollar donation to the Woonsocket Police Department in support of their annual COPS Walk event.

The annual COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) Walk is a relay of four and a half days of foot travel to Washington, DC to raise money for the families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. This year 13 Woonsocket police officers will particpate in the relay. This is the 12th COPS walk for the department.

The COPS organization provides psychological help, retreats and scholarships for the families of the estimated 150 officers that die in the line of duty each year.
