Armed Robber Hits Aldi

Cranston Police are searching for a male suspect who attempted to rob the Aldi on Cranston Street with a semiautomatic handgun.

Cranston Police are searching for a man who walked into the Aldi Market on Cranston Street Monday afternoon with a semiautomatic weapon and demanded cash.

Police said the man, described as a white male wearing a black Callaway golf jacket, Callaway golf hat and a black and red scarf pulled over his face, stuck the gun into the ribs of a cashier at the checkout line.

The man, who appeared to be in his 40s of 50s, did not obtain any money and fled the store towards Franklin Street.

No vehicle was seen.

soon? The Stadium area is closer to Providence, that area has been on the down side of the hill for over a decade already.
