Alleged Assailant in Fatal Charley's Place Beating Out on Bail

Alan Klemanchuck was charged with assaulting Robert Gordon, who later died.

Alan Klemanchuck, the man police said assaulted a Charley's Place patron who later died, is out on bail.

Klemanchuck, 58, was charged with felony-level domestic assault.

WPRI.com reported he's out on bail and living near the family of Robert Gordon, the man he allegedly assaulted. The Medical Examiner's Office determined the cause of his death was blunt impact trauma to the head.

Gordon's family said they're "frustrated" Klemanchuck is not behind bars.

Woonsocket police told WPRI they are waiting for a completed medical examiner's report to determine if the charges against Klemanchuck should be upgraded.
