Maybe The Numbers Are Wrong?

To the incumbents or those who didn't do so well.... maybe the numbers are wrong?

Maybe it was the the people whose taxes were raised 23% and their homes went to tax sale if they were only one quarter behind?

Maybe it was the homeowner who couldn’t afford to paint their house and were taken to court and fined by the city?

Maybe it was the investor that decided there was too much red tape to make a profit in this city?

Maybe it was the renter that finally got on their feet, only to finance a new car and get crippled by our excise tax?

Maybe it was the elderly woman, who hurt her back because she had to roll her trash can back up her driveway because the city refused to pick it up because her green barrel wasn’t put out even though she had nothing to recycle?

Or maybe it was the loyal elderly homeowner? The one who wanted nothing more than to die in their home? The one who can still feel the aches and pains of the work they did just to pay off their home and be “secure” in their retirement. The ones who are crushed under the weight of an unfair tax burden.

Maybe its all of us, the citizens of Woonsocket?

The political buzzword is “business friendly”, maybe the incumbents should have simply tried to be citizen friendly!
