Sylvia Forte, 80: Member, The Daughters of Isabella

The Woonsocket native passed away on July 17, 2013.

Sylvia Forte, 80, passed away on July 17, 2013 in the Miriam Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Antonio A. Forte. They had been married for the past 60 years.

Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Russell W. and Beatrice (Caron) Champagne. She resided in Cumberland for the past 54 years.
She was employed by the former Drolet Hardware Co., Pawtucket for 13 years retiring in 1995. She was a communicant of the Historic St. Joseph Church Cumberland and a member of The Daughters of Isabella.

Mrs. Forte was a former advisor for the United C.Y.O. and member of the Board of Directors for the Blackstone Valley Shelter for Abused Children.

Besides her husband she leaves four children, Joanne Toppa and husband Robert of Cranston; Mary Lynne Miller and husband Thomas and David Forte both of Cumberland and Antonio Forte and wife Celine of Smithfield. Also surviving are a sister Theresa Champagne of Cumberland and 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Burial was private. Calling hours respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Holiday Retirement Home, Activity Fund, 30 Sayles Hill Rd., Manville, RI 02838.
