Robert J. Pierce: Vietnam Veteran, Retired Maintenance Worker

Woonsocket resident died at Landmark Monday night.

 

Robert J. Pierce, 63, of Woonsocket, died Monday evening at Landmark Medical Center, according to Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home.

Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Theresa Pimental. He was a resident of Woonsocket for most of his life.

Mr. Pierce served in the Army during Vietnam. He received the Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and the Combat Infantry Badge.

Mr. Pierce was employed in the construction and painting trades. He later worked in the maintenance dept. at Woonsocket Health Center prior to retiring.

He is survived by two daughters Donna Milano (& Richard) of Woonsocket and Pamela Banks (& Anthony) of Kansas. Two brothers Maurice Pimental Jr. and Brian Pierce and two sisters Terry Lynn Bergeron and Brenda Manteca, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
