Paul E. Gobeille: Retired Woonsocket Postman, WWII Purple Heart Recipient

Paul E. Gobeille, 93, died September 2, 2013 at Landmark Medical Center, according to Holt Funeral Home. 

He was the husband of the late Muriel (Dalpe) Gobeille to whom he was married 66 years. Born in Riverside, he was the son of the late Emile and Mae (Lapierre) Gobeille.

For more than 50 years he was a resident of View Ave, Cumberland before moving to North Smithfield in 2009. He worked for the US Post Office in Woonsocket until his retirement in 1981. Paul served in the US Army during WWII in Europe earning two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. He was a long time communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Cumberland. His funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, at 8:45 a.m. from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Help Church, 1063 Victory Hwy. Burrillville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham, MA.
