Obituary: Ruth A. Beauchamp, 79, Devoted Mother and Grandmother

Ruth A. Beauchamp, 79, of Woonsocket, formerly of Church St. Manville, died Monday morning at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of Rene W. “Butch” Beauchamp. They were married on August 31, 1957.

Born in Manville she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Corinne (Lachapelle) Latour. She was a resident of Manville for most of her life prior to moving to Woonsocket several years ago.

Mrs. Beauchamp was employed at the Wrentham State School for several years.

Ruth was a longtime communicant of St. James Parish and enjoyed visiting antique stores.

Ruth will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband of 56 years she is survived by three sons Wayne E. Beauchamp and his wife Maureen of Woonsocket, Brian J. Beauchamp and his wife Becky of Swansea, MA., Keith J. Beauchamp and his wife Christine of Cumberland. A daughter Michelle Belhumeur and her husband Marc of Gorham, ME. She was the sister of the late Armand Latour and Therese Brin. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and a niece Diane Lussier.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 am in St. James Church, Division St. Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8 pm in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Shrine of St. Jude Claretian Missionaries 205 Monroe St. P.O. Box 8531 Chicago, IL. 60680-8531.
