Michael A. Roy, 59: Worked at Bird Machine Inc., Proprietor of R&G Auto Sales

Michael A. Roy, 59, of Woonsocket died peacefully Tuesday morning at Landmark Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer, according to the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home.

He was the loving husband of Norma (Coutu) Roy. They were married on Nov. 26, 1992.

Born in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Henry R. Roy, Sr. and Lucille (Riendeau) Roy. He was a lifelong resident the city.

Mike was employed at Bird Machine Inc. in South Walpole and was the proprietor of R&G Auto Sales in Uxbridge for many years.

Mike will be remembered as a very kind and caring man who deeply loved his family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 20 years he is survived by a daughter Tammy L. Kane of North Providence, two step-children Dale McArdle of NC and Melynda Cote of Woonsocket. He was the brother of Henry R. Roy Jr. and Debra Brunelle both of Woonsocket. He is also survived by six grandchildren Brain, Joshua and Brittney Kane, Zachary Cote, Nathaniel Aubin and Morgan Beaudreault.

His funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. 

Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery on Mendon Rd. in Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8 p.m. ln lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd. Suite 3004 Warwick, RI. 02886
