Mary E. (Joseph) Monsour, 91: US Army WWII Vet, Woonsocket School Nurse

Mary E. (Joseph) Monsour, 91, of Monty Ave., died Oct. 17, 2013 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket, according to Holt Funeral Home.

She was the wife of the late Fred J. Monsour. Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late George and Annie (Mona) Joseph. She worked nineteen years as a Nurse for the Woonsocket School Dept. before retiring in 1989 and was a member of the RI State Nurses Association.

She graduated from the Boston City Hospital School of Nursing in 1938, then from RI College in 1960 and she received her Master's Degree in Counseling from Providence College in 1980. Mrs. Monsour served in the United States Army during World War II.

She is survived by her two sons, Fred Monsour and his wife Lisa of Fort Lee, NJ, and Louis Monsour of Paris, France; her sister, Angeline Tasash of No. Providence; and her granddaughter, Morgan Monsour. She was predeceased by her two sons, George and Walter Monsour.

Private funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI.
