Laurette C. "Memere" Allard: Lifelong Resident, Mother, Grandmother

Laurette C. “Memere” Allard, 88, of Woonsocket died Wednesday morning at the Ballou Home, according to Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home. 

She was the wife of the late Woonsocket Police Officer Gerard R. Allard who passed away in 1997.

Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Salome (Bessette) Leclerc. She was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket.

Mrs. Allard was employed at Mansurel Worsted, L’Hospice St. Antoine and Leo’s Bakery in Woonsocket.

Laurette was a member of the St. Joseph and Golden Hearts Senior Citizens groups. She was an adept card player and also enjoyed bowling and reading.

Her funeral will be Monday at 9a.m. from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave., Woonsocket. 

Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-7 pm.
