Hermance (Audet) Jacob, 98: Worked 25 Years at Woonsocket Hospital

Hermance (Audet) Jacob, 98, died Dec. 19, 2013 at Woonsocket Health & Rehabilitation Centre, Woonsocket, according to Holt Funeral Home.

She was the wife of the late Oscar A. Jacob whom she married Oct. 25, 1947.
Born in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada she was the daughter of the late Phillippe J. and Albina (Leblanc) Audet. Jacob came to the United States in 1923 moving to Fitchburg and becoming a citizen through her father. Prior to her retirement she worked for 25 years as a nurse for Woonsocket Hospital.

She was a long time communicant of St. Eugene's Church, Chepachet, and enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and reading.

She is survived by two children, Juliette Pinto of Chepachet, and Oscar Jacob of Woonsocket; four brothers, Charles Audet of Framingham, MA, Raymond Audet of West Springfield, MA, Robert Audet of Columbia, SC, and Bernard Audet of Camarillo, CA; her sister, Corrine Prunier of Long Island, NY; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Arthur P. Jacob; her three brothers, Donald, George, and Philip Audet; and her sister, Louise Gilligan.

Her funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Eugene's Church, 1251 Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Road, Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 - 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
