Harold J. Lefebvre: WWII Navy Vet, Bernon Little League Coach

Woonsocket resident died Saturday at his home.

 

Harold J. Lefebvre, 85, of Woonsocket, died Saturday, Nov. 3 at home, according to Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home.

He was the loving husband of Lucille J. (Berard) Lefebvre. They were married on July 4, 1952.

Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Grace (Mandeville) Lefebvre. He was a lifelong resident of the city.

Lefebvre was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII.

Lefebvre was employed at the French Worsted mill for over 20 years and then worked for Comm Tec for over 25 years before retiring.

Harold was a member of the Club Marquette and was active with Bernon Little League for many years as a coach and manager. He also enjoyed cribbage and bowling.

Harold will be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by a son James H. Lefebvre of Chepachet, a daughter Jeanne L. Dansereau, and her husband Ronald, of Woonsocket. Three grandchildren Joel Craig, Breanna Lefebvre and Travis Lefebvre. He was the brother of the late Florence Briere and is also survived by two nieces and a nephew.

His funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, RI Chapter, 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI. 02906.
