Frances M. (Ferland) Gulowacz Roy, 93: Avid Reader, Member of Holy Family Parish

Frances M. (Ferland) Gulowacz Roy, 93, of South Main St., Woonsocket died Wednesday evening at home with her children close to her, according to Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home.

She was the wife of the late Walter Gulowacz and the late Wilfred Roy.

Born on May 29, 1920 in St. Norbert, P.Q. Canada, she was a daughter of the late Ignace and Marie (Rondeau) Ferland. She lived in Boston before moving to Woonsocket in 1961.

Frances was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Parish. She was an avid reader and cherished spending time with her family.

Frances is survived by her daughter Joyce Robert and her son John Gulowacz, both of Woonsocket. Two granddaughters Christine Dardaris of Abington, PA. and Cynthia Segnatelli of Middleboro, MA. Four great-grandchildren Gregory and Alex Dardaris and Alessandro and Cecilia Segnatelli. She was the sister of the late Madeleine Sampson, Phyllis Collins and Jeannine Kangiser.

Her funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 414 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are today, Friday, from 5-8 p.m.
