Cecile G. (Goyette) Tessier: Talented Knitter, Crocheter, Avid Red Sox Fan

Cecile G. (Goyette) Tessier, 85, a resident of the Villa at St. Antoine, No. Smithfield, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 in her home, according to Holt Funeral Home.

She was the wife of the late Claude G. Tessier, whom she married February 7, 1948. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Sylvia (Tessier) Goyette.

Cecile was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Woonsocket. Her favorite pastimes included playing BINGO, cribbage and scrabble. Cecile will be remembered as a talented knitter and crocheter. Activities with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and close friends were the center of her life, and she always kept in contact with close relatives in Quebec.

Cecile was an avid Red Sox fan. She leaves her thirteen children. 

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.

Calling hours are today from 5-8 p.m. in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cecile's memory may be made to the Villa at St. Antoine, 400 Mendon Rd., No. Smithfield, RI 02896.
