Alcide "Pete" Marcotte, 97: WWII Army Vet, Retired Carpenter

Alcide "Pete" Marcotte, 97, of King Ave., Blackstone, MA, died Oct. 15, 2013 at UMass Medical Center, Worcester, MA, according to Holt Funeral Home

He was the husband of Rita (Landry) Marcotte whom he married Nov. 25, 1948. Born in Blackstone, MA, he was the son of the late Adjutor and Marie (Laquerre) Marcotte. He worked as a carpenter for the former Victor Homes Company and prior to retiring in 1981, he worked part time for Giguere & Marchand, Blackstone.

Marcotte served the United States Army during World War II, was a member of the VFW Post in Forestdale and was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church, Blackstone. Besides his wife, he is survived by their two sons, Dennis and Kenneth Marcotte both of Blackstone; his two sisters, Gabrielle Marcotte of Cumberland, and Exilda Jobin of Blackstone; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Oct. 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa's Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Road, Bellingham. Calling hours are omitted. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
