Fundraiser Aids Tucker Family Following Fire

Firefighters and two fast-acting samaritans saved the Tucker family from the flames that claimed their home at 631 S. Main Street Sept. 22, and now an online campaign to help them replace belongings is halfway to its $1,000 goal.

The fundraiser, The Tucker Family Fire Relief fund, was set up by Katie Kell of North Smithfield on Gofundme.com, and several people have left messages there offering help and donations. "Thank you all for your donations! The children are very fortunate to have your support in this difficult time," Kell wrote on the site.

The fundraiser has reached $515 of its $1,000 goal.
