Andrea
Perron was
a cast member for more than twenty years, with The Theatre Company of Rhode
Island, performing on the stage of The Assembly Theater, the historic
centerpiece of Harrisville. “This is a story whose time has come,”
says Perron. “Many have spoken or written about fragments of
the story for decades. Now is the time to tell the whole truth about what
happened in a house alive with death as we lived an illuminating decade of
life. It is a tale worth telling because it is true.”

The Assembly Theatre,
built in 1933, is located at 26 East Avenue, behind the town hall annex
and across the street from the library. It is a large, gable-roofed
meeting hall, set end to road, with a 5 bay, square-columned porch. The
park-like area around the Assembly and the Town Hall Annex is well landscaped,
with hedges, birch trees and flower beds. The theatre has a rich history which
began with local mill owner/philanthropist Austin T. Levy, who devised a grand
restructuring plan for Harrisville.
