HUMAN LIBRARY RHODE ISLAND

Have you ever met a Human Book?  Now is your chance! Come to Roger Williams University to choose from more than 50 living books, real people with fascinating stories to tell. Based on a powerful idea that began in Denmark and has spread to over 60 countries, human libraries help us to look at life from another person’s perspective and encourage us to test the truth behind our preconceptions.  Browse our unique catalog and check out a book that interests you for a 15-minute, one-on-one conversation. Titles include Face of Homelessness, Refugee, Becoming Blind, Ex-Felon, Childless by Choice, A Gay Catholic, Former Fat Chick to Endurance Sport Athlete, Growing Up Narragansett and The Anarchist Next Door. Go to www.humanlibraryrhodeisland.com to see the full catalog. Listen, learn and feel free to ask questions!  Presented by a collaboration of Rhode Island libraries, the only thing you need to bring with you is an open mind.
