Woonsocket Election 2013: From Outset to Upshot

About 24 percent of Woonsocket's 25,609 registered voters had shown up at the polls to cast their ballots by 7 p.m. Tuesday during the city's 2013 election.

During his concession speech at the evening's end, as it became clear Rep. Lisa Baldelli-Hunt was the winner of the race for the City's top seat, Mayor Leo Fontaine urged his supporters to work together with the new administration to solve the city's problems.

Hope for that amicable spirit of community was evident in the demeanor of Lorraine Cloutier and Noel Pincince outside Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church at lunchtime Tuesday. The campaign volunteers, one holding a sign for Fontaine, the other holding a sign for Baldelli-Hunt, shared smiles and laughs as they stood outside the church's doors.
