Mayor Leo Fontaine Wishes New Mayor, Council 'The Very Best'

Mayor Leo Fontaine, moments after conceding the Mayoral race to Rep. Lisa Baldelli-Hunt, offered a gracious concession speech, telling his supporters he wished her and the City Council 'The very best'.

"That's what we need for this community, is for people to pull together and support our elected officials," Fontaine said.

Fontaine was gracious in the face of two-one poll results with all precincts reporting – 4,294 for Baldelli-Hunt to Fontaine's 2,056, according to unofficial numbers, encouraging the city toward unity in the face of what he's characterized as unfair burdens placed on Woonsocket by state budgets and officials.

"Certainly, it's time for this community to pull together," Fontaine said.
