Mancieri Pledges Business Ease, Increased Values, Government Overhaul

Editor's note: This is the first in a series of articles/videos in Woonsocket Patch's coverage of the Sept. 24 Candidates Night, beginning with City Council Challengers.

Lifelong Woonsocket resident and Tax Board of Assessment member Garrett Mancieri intends to make doing business in Woonsocket easier, increase neighborhood values and overhaul city government as a City Councilor.

The Council challenger outlined those goals during the Sept. 24 Candidates Night at Chan's Restaurant sponsored by MyWoonsocket.com and 1380 WNRI, where Woonsocket voters were formally introduced to candidates in the Woonsocket mayoral and City Council primary on Oct. 8 and the election on Nov. 5.

This is the second time Mancieri has made a bid for a Council seat. The Co-Founder and Vice President of Gateway Realty is second cousin of State Sen. Roger Picard (D- Woonsocket, Cumberland,) and nephew of Ernest Picard (co-owner of NYS Flowers, Inc.,).

Mancieri's interest in the Council and City politics has endured in recent years, evidenced by his routine and often active attendance at Council and Budget Commission meetings.

In a recent post on Woonsocket Patch, Mancieri pledged to foster a sound working relationship between the Council and School Committee, and to improve Woonsocket's reputation.
