Woonsocket Edible Arrangements Donating Portion Of March Proceeds To MS Society

Starting Friday, $5 from all Orange Blossom orders donated to charity.

Begining Friday, Edible Arrangements locations in Rhode Island, including the one in Woonsocket, will kick off its first fundraiser benefitting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Throughout the month of March, the company will donate $5 from any orange blossom arrangement to the society’s Rhode Island chapter to raise funds to help people with MS and to support MS research.

The arrangements vary in price, starting at $48. That package gets you a fruit bouquet featuring orange slices and wedges filled with fresh strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe and honeydew. There's a $66 package that inlcudes chocolate covered bananas and strawberries.

The company scheduled the fundraiser during March, to coincide with MS awareness month. It was inspired by Nick D’Alleva, a franchisee of three stores on the North Shore in Boston who is passionate about MS fundraising and awareness due to extensive family history with this destructive disease.

“We value Edible Arrangements® continuing generosity and we look forward to using those funds to help local individuals and families who are affected by MS, at the same time that we fund cutting-edge research around the country,” said Kathy Mechnig, president of the National MS Society, Rhode Island Chapter.

Customers may order arrangements by telephone at 1-877-DO-FRUIT, at one of the company’s retail stores, or, starting Friday, online at www.EdibleArrangements.com
