Get ready for the T-day weekend, and check out these things to know:

 

Thanksgiving Eve Woonsocket - Calvary Worship Center is offering a free night filled with great food, friends and fellowship tonight at 7 p.m. Check in with the church to let them know you're coming at their facebook event or at 401-699-1295.

Thanksgiving Eve Cumberland - Four Corners Comunity Chapel will host Ecumenical services featuring a performance by local singers from the Cumberland-Lincoln Community Chorus. The event is 7 p.m. at 200 Angel Road, Cumberland, RI. Call 401-333-6171.

Ocean State Holiday Pops at Stadium - On Friday, 8 p.m., this 60 piece orchestra will fill you with the spirit of Christmas as they play all of your merry holiday favorites. This talented Orchestra is proud to include among its ranks members of the Rhode Island Philharmonic and Philharmonic Community Orchestras, the American Band, the Rhode Island Wind Ensemble, as well as the Brown University, RIC, URI, and Fall River Symphony Orchestras, and other area groups. Kids 12 and under are FREE - buy tickets at the theatre's website.

Polar Express - The Blackstone Valley Polar Express is back in Woonsocket Sunday, Nov. 25, departing from Station One Depot Square at 1 and 4 p.m. for a 90-minute holiday excursion and reading of the Chris Van Allsburg’s classic, The Polar Express with appearances by The Chef serving hot chocolate and cookies, The Conductor, punching tickets, and The Engineer calling “All Aboard! Santa and Mrs. Claus appear and kids get a coloring book, crayons, and a very special gift presented personally by Santa.

Diner for lease - Been itching to start up a new restaurant? Neighborworks Blackstone River Valley is offering experienced restauranteurs a lease of the diner car once home to “Champs Diner,” on Park Avenue, now waiting a new tenant and customers at 719 Front St. The car was one of more than 600 diners produced by the Worcester Lunch Car and Carriage Manufacturing Company. 

Applications to win the lease, including a resume and business plan, are due Feb. 13.
