A second storm is headed to the area and could make driving hazardous on Saturday.

A second storm of the week is headed toward New England and will dump a bit more snow onto the area on Saturday.

The rest of the weekend and early week is looking better — though cooler — in Woonsocket. Expect partly sunny skies with temperatures in the low-30s Sunday and Monday, with overnight lows dipping into the teens. New Year's Day should warm a bit, with temps topping out in the high-30s under mostly coudy skies.

The Hydrometeorological Prediction Center predicts a 40 percent chance that RI and Southeastern Mass will receive up to 4 inches of accumulating snow from this new storm with a less than 10 percent change of greater accumulation while the Taunton NWS office has the are in a 2 to 4 inch range with a few areas, Woonsocket included, that could get 4 to 6 inches of picture postcard type of snow. Happy New Year.
