A replica of Paris's Arc de Triomphe, the centerpiece of the Woonsocket's 125th bIrthday block party, began taking shape this morning.
Lynn Ladder & Scaffolding and Top Safe Services began building the scaffolding in a blocked off section of N. Main Street across from Stadium Theater today. N. Main Street traffic has been detoured around the square on Blackstone Street.
Later tonight, said Al Beauparlant, co-chair of the Block Party Committee, Jersey barriers will be installed to protect the structure from traffic.
The Arch will begin to resemble the original tomorrow, Beauparlant said.
