Security Company Grows in RI

Electronic Alarms of Warwick, which provides security services for homes and businesses across the state, announced that its parent company has completed the acquisition of AAA Custom Alarm Systems of Warwick, which has served homeowners and businesses in Rhode Island for more than 40 years.

AAA Custom Alarm Systems was founded and operated by Joseph A. Trillo, an early leader of the electronic alarm industry in Rhode Island.  Mr. Trillo is a past president of the Rhode Island Alarm Association and, since 2000, has served as a Representative in the Rhode Island General Assembly.

“This is an important milestone for two companies with deep roots in Rhode Island,” said Henry Guzeika Jr., general manager of Electronic Alarms. “By bringing our teams together, we further enhance our ability to deliver top security technologies and quality services to our customers, while maintaining local management and a family business approach to everything we do.”

All of AAA Custom Alarm Systems staff will remain with the company, which will consolidate operations at the Electronic Alarms facility in Warwick. There will be no interruption of service or alarm monitoring for customers. Mr. Trillo will serve as a consultant to the company to ensure a smooth transition.

“Protecting people’s lives, homes and businesses is a serious mission that we have dedicated ourselves to since the 1960s. At this point in my life, however, I am looking forward to reducing my day-to-day business commitments so I can focus more time on my family while continuing to serve the people of Warwick and Rhode Island,” Trillo said. “So this was the right time for a change, and I would not have taken this step unless I was completely confident that all of my customers would be in superb hands.”

Established by the Guzeika family in 1969, Electronic Alarms is now a division of American Alarm and Communications, a family-owned company based in Arlington, Massachusetts.  Through the 1970s, as the alarm industry took shape, Joseph Trillo, Henry Guzeika Sr. and American Alarm’s founder Richard Sampson worked together on several formative industry initiatives, including the creation of the New England Alarm and Controls Council and the Rhode Island Alarm Association. Now, all three of their companies form a united team to serve the security needs of homeowners, businesses and institutions across Rhode Island and southern New England.
