Cash Mob Returning To Woonsocket Today

Participants are asked to meet at 186 Cass Ave. parking lot across from Landmark at 6 p.m.

The Northern RI Chamber of Commerce and the Blackstone Valley Independent Business Alliance are bringing the cash mob back to Woonsocket tonight.

The Cash Mob idea is to get a large group of people together who agree to spend at least $20 at each venue. The larger the crowd, the larger the impact on the local economy.

Back in April, the organizations put together a cash mob and turned its wallets and pocketbooks on Kay's Restaurant and Vose True Value. More than 100 customers surpised and thrilled shop owners and organizers.

“This is a great way to do our part to help stimulate the local economy,” said John Gregory, President and CEO of the Northern RI Chamber, in the event's press release posted on the C hamber's website
