What's Happening this Weekend in Woonsocket?

Chan's hosts some great shows, and the nearby Rustic Drive-In is showing a film based on events in Rhode Island.

It's time for the weekend — and that means getting out for some great entertainment in the Woonsocket area.

On Friday night, Chan's hosts Doug Deming and Dennis Gruenling throwing down the jump blues beginning at 8 p.m. Tix are $12. [Click here for online tickets.]

Axe-wielding Deming, who's played with Kim Wilson, Gary Primich and Lazy Lester, teams up with harmonica champ Gruenling, who's sat in with Jump Time, Pinetop Perkins, and Nappy Brown.

Down on Rte. 146, the Rustic Tri-Vue Drive-In is showing The Conjuring, a new film based on events in nearby Harrisville.

Showing Friday through Thursday following Pacific Rim. $25 per carload, shows start at dusk, around 8:45 p.m. [Click here for more info.]
