YWCA Mitten Tree Warming Hearts And Hands

YWCA collecting new mittens, gloves, hats, scarfs till Jan. 5

With cold weather is on its way, YWCA Rhode Island is again displaying a Mitten Tree from now until Jan. 5 to help kids who need help staying warm.

The Mitten Tree holds mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, socks and other warm clothing on its branches, typically for children. Anyone who is in need of these items is welcome to them.

“Our mitten tree has been a tremendous success over the few years. We know that many children benefit from this project during the winter season,” said Deborah L. Perry, YWCA Rhode Island president/chief executive officer,  “We are inviting community members to assist in providing warmth to those in need during this holiday season by adding an item to the tree.”

All donations are warmly welcomed. Please leave labels/tags on for information regarding clothing materials and sizes.
