Trash Pickup Halted Today, Normal Collection Resumes Tomorrow

If you didn't get your trash picked up today, it will be taken care of first thing tomorrow.

Here's the situation with trash and recycling pickup in Woonsocket.

It is a normal collection schedule this week even though Monday was a holiday.

And the normal collection schedule will continue on Wednesday.

City officials said trucks were pulled from their routes today, which means some Tuesday customers never got a visit. Those customers will be serviced first on Wednesday.

Michael Debroisse, the superintendent of solid waste and engineering, said the trucks were pulled from their routes because of the bad weather conditions. The decision to stop collection happened with about 30 minutes of route time left for each of the four trucks.

"Most of the areas not finished today are on streets with hills," Debroisse said.
