RI Treasurer Learns About FRCA's Financial Empowerment Program

General Treasurer Gina Raimondo recently visited Woonsocket to discuss the Treasury’s Financial Empowerment initiatives and learn about programs offered by local organizations to help strengthen the financial condition of individuals and families.

As a part of the tour, the Treasurer visited Family Resources Community Action’s Employment & Training Center at 55 Main Street, Woonsocket which is also the location of the Financial Opportunity Center administered by FRCA in partnership with NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley.

Representatives from both agencies met with the Treasurer, along with several individuals that have been served through the Financial Opportunity Center to talk about the positive impact of financial education, coaching and support.

The Financial Opportunity Center, funded by Local Initiatives Support Corporation and the United Way of Rhode Island, is a one-stop shop for financial, educational, coaching and employment services.
