Recaffeinated: Donut Xpress Is Back in Business

Donut Xpress re-opened its doors June 20 after months of renovations following a Nov. 2012 fire that shuttered the shop

The business's donuts (all baked in-house) are once again on the menu for customers who've been waiting seven months for their beverage and pastry fix.

"We've been waiting a long time for this place to open up," said Joe Allare, drinking coffee at a picnic table outside the front of the shop with a group of customers.

"Too long," agreed a patron who would only identify himself as Walter W.

Carl Boudreau, availing himself of a coffee at the counter inside served by Shannon Shaw, indicated Crepeau Court down the road at 100 Front St. "Those people were dying for this place to open back up," he said.

Donut Xpress, which offers coffee, (iced and regular), donuts, muffins, cookies, and breakfast sandwiches, is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Regular customers and new ones can reunite themselves with all that Donut Xpress offers.

On July 6, the shop will host a cookout style Grand Opening celebration, selling hot dogs and hamburgers along with the pastry.
