A Summertime Steampunked Shakespeare For Mount's Macbeth July 11-21

Expect the unexpected during Shakespeare on the Mount's 2013 summer production of Macbeth, playing July 11 – 14  and July 18– 21  (Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. and 2 p.m. Sundays) in Mount’s Bell Tower Theater, 800 Logee St., Woonsocket.

The show is at a level of professionalism beyond what would be expected of a youth production, according to Mount's Communications Director Penny Federici. It will be presented in the round at the Mount Saint Charles Academy Bell Tower Theatre in an immersive theatrical experience.

Cinematic music, composed by Ernie Folcarelli, formerly of Smithfield, plays throughout the production. Folcarelli, a Berkley College of Music graduate, resides in Brooklyn, NY. His unique compositions lay a backdrop to the superb acting of Shakespeare on the Mount players from all over RI including Woonsocket, North Smithfield, Cumberland, Lincoln, North Providence, Johnston, Cranston, East Providence, South Kingstown, and Middletown.

Members of the production have trained for weeks in special skills just for this performance. Some of the highlights are stage combat coordinated by Jason Robert LeClair, teacher at the Mount summer camp, faculty member of the Beacon Charter School and an 18-year-veteran of combat choreography.

The production’s costumes are designed with a very unique modern Steampunk style- a neo-Victorian genre of art, literature, music, and popular culture that lends itself perfectly to Macbeth. Props and sets are all hand crafted by the company with aid from some of the top Steampunk artists in the Nation such as Joey Marsocci (a.k.a. Doctor Grymm).
