Treasury Helps Job Seekers Look for Missing Money

Staff from General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo’s office recently visited Woonsocket’s Martin Luther King, Jr. career fair to help attendees find their missing money. Job seekers were able to search the Missing Money database and see if they were one of the many Rhode Islanders who have unclaimed property.

“My office is working to provide convenient opportunities for Rhode Islanders to start the unclaimed property process and learn about the tools they need for a successful financial future,” said Raimondo.

Over the last year, Raimondo’s office has visited more than 25 local community events to inform Rhode Islanders of the Unclaimed Property program. Currently, Treasury is holding more than 750,000 unclaimed properties, including forgotten bank accounts and life insurance claims, worth over $250 million.
