Raimondo Visits Fifth Graders Art Bernon Heights Elementary
WOONSOCKET, R.I. – General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo recently visited Bernon Heights Elementary School in Woonsocket to speak to the enthusiastic fifth graders about her role as state Treasurer and teach them about money management.
“Improving financial literacy in Rhode Island is a priority of mine,” said Raimondo. “It’s critical to teach our kids the power of saving and importance of managing money. By educating our youth, we are building a strong foundation and helping to move our state forward.”

Raimondo answered questions about ways that her children are learning to save money and about her goals for the state. She also informed the students of CollegeBoundfund, Rhode Island’s 529 college savings plan, designed to help families save for higher education expenses at an accredited college, university, vocational or trade school.
