Holiday philanthropy As we given thanks this holiday week, we are reminded of the needs of so many in the community, spurring many to take action and serve the community. But where do you start? Are you open on Thanksgiving? Most businesses are closed for Thanksgiving, but if you know a business staying open, let the community know. Email patrick.luce@patch.com or mention it in the comments section, and we'll incude it in our What's Open/Closed article Wednesday.

Turkey Day trash Schedule - On Thursday, in the observance of Thanksgiving Day, the Woonsocket Material Recycle Facility located at 943 River Street will be closed. The Recycle Facility will be open on Friday Nov. 29, Saturday Nov. 30. Woonsocket residents are reminded that curbside pick-up for trash, recycling and yard waste for Thursday and Friday will be delayed by one day.
