YWCA Mitten Tree - YWCA RI at 514 Blackstone St. is displaying a Mitten Tree from now until Jan. 10. A Mitten Tree holds mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, socks and other warm clothing on its branches, typically for children. Anyone in need of these items is welcome to them.

Yard Waste Pickup Ends- Curbside pick-up of yard waste (grass clippings, small branches, weeds, etc.) will END on your trash/recycling curbside collection day this week. Curbside yard waste collection will resume in April
The yard waste drop-off site in Blackstone, MA, off Canal Street (North Smithfield) will close for the season on Saturday, Dec. 7. The site will re-open in April 2014. It is illegal to throw yard waste in the household waste
