Pancakes for Music Sunday, Toy Drive Deadlines Tuesday

Pancakes for WHS Music - This Sunday is the Woonsocket High School Music Department's first Pancake Breakfast at Applebee's on Diamond Hill from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets are 8 dollars and are available in the music office or at the door. Enjoy a hearty breakfast and support students raising money for this years national competition.

Post 85 Toy DriveAmerican Legion Post 85's Toy Drive is underway until Dec. 10 Stop in at 870 River St. and a donate a toy for a child who might not get anything without our help. Call (401) 766-7585 for more details.

Special Election - 
Campaign junkies rejoice - there's a Special Election brewing to fill the Dist. 49 seat vacated by new Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt. Prospective candidates should mark their calendars - there are only two calendar days to declare your candidacy at City Hall.

YWCA Mitten Tree - 
YWCA RI at 514 Blackstone St. is displaying a Mitten Tree from now until Jan. 10.  A Mitten Tree holds mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, socks and other warm clothing on its branches, typically for children. Anyone in need of these items is welcome to them. 

All donations are warmly welcomed. Please leave labels/tags on for
information regarding clothing materials and sizes. To learn more,

Yard Waste Pickup Ends
- Curbside pick-up of yard waste (grass clippings, small branches, weeds, etc.) will END on your trash/recycling curbside collection day this week. Curbside yard waste collection will resume in April 
2014.

The yard waste drop-off site in Blackstone, MA, off Canal Street (North Smithfield) will close for the season on Saturday, Dec. 7. The site will re-open in April 2014. It is illegal to throw yard waste in the household waste 
collection carts. Questions can be directed to the Solid Waste Division at (401) 767-8880.
