Cookie Walk - Do you like cookies? If so, you're in luck - St. Michael's Church at 74 Harris Ave. is holding their annual Cookie Walk this Saturday from 9 a.m. till noon. They've got 50 kinds of cookies. Cookies are $8.50 per pound. For pre-orders of 5 pounds or more, call 765-1410 o 762-3939.
Old Street Signs Sold to aid Milk Fund - Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt has announced that the City of Woonsocket will be selling the old green and white city street signs to anyone interested for $10 per sign with the proceeds to benefit the Milk Fund. The complete list of street names will be posted on the city’s websitewww.ci.woonsocket.ri.us and will be available for sale in Harris Hall at City Hall weekdays starting from Dec 16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. City Hall will be closed Dec. 24 through Dec. 31.
The signs are a nostalgic gift for anyone’s home, office or place of business, and the proceeds will help a very worthy charity.
Giving Tree - To help make the holidays brighter for children in need, BankRI has partnered with 12 local non-profits to provide gifts for the less fortunate this holiday season. Gifts collected at BankRI’s Woonsocket branch Giving Tree at 1175 Cumberland Hill Road will help Connecting for Children & Families.
YWCA Mitten Tree - YWCA RI at 514 Blackstone St. is displaying a Mitten Tree from now until Jan. 10. A Mitten Tree holds mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, socks and other warm clothing on its branches, typically for children. Anyone in need of these items is welcome to them.
