Full Day K Talk, Career Fair Saturday, Donate for Homeless

School Board Wednesday - The Woonsocket School Board meets Wednesday, Jan. 15, 7 p.m. for a special workshop at Hamlet Middle School's cafeteria. An update on full-day Kindergarten is the sole item on their agenda

Woonsocket Career Fair - 
The Woonsocket MLK Community Committee will host a career fair at Woonsocket High School, 777 Cass Ave., on Jan. 18, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. as part of Martin Luther King Weekend.

The fair includes a keynote speaker, refreshments, and workshops. The theme for this year's events is "Let Freedom Ring: 50 Year's Later...

Donate for the homeless 
- To continue Martin Luther King's work for economic justice, Youth RAP at NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley will be distributing basic need items to the homeless in Woonsocket on MLK Day Monday, Jan. 20. You can donate items at 719 Front St, Suite 103. Call 401-762-0993.

Biz After Hours - CCF is hosting the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce "Business After Hours" event on Jan. 15 from 5-7 p.m. at their offices (46 Hope St., Woonsocket).  

Special Election -The special election brewing to fill the Dist. 49 seat vacated by new Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt will pit three candidates against each other in the Jan. 21 primary.

Ghost Army - Now through Jan. 31, the Museum of Work & Culture, in conjunction with the BVTC, present a special Ghost Army Exhibit, at the Museum, located at Market Square in Woonsocket. See special interpretive display telling true story of city's connection to a secret World War II mission. Information at Rhode Island Historical Society website.
