The first impression one gets when entering Kay’s Restaurant is that of a very fancy restaurant. The ambiance consists of beautiful Colonial décor, and it is dimly lit and quiet, making it a very cozy place to dine. We arrived late afternoon on Tuesday hoping to grab a late lunch/early dinner. The newest edition to Woonsocket's list of great places to dine, Plaza Mexico, combines a unique intimate setting with delectably fresh food to create one of the best overall dining experiences available in the area. My husband and I dined at Plaza Mexico on Wednesday evening at about 7 p.m. The restaurant was quite atmospheric with dark rich colors and beautiful Mexican decor. My oldest son graduated from High School this past week so I thought a quiet lunch together, just the two of us, would be fitting. We decided to go to Chan's and it proved to be the perfect choice for some one on one, mother and son time. At about 1 p.m. on a Friday afternoon Chan's was quiet, intimate and very cozy. Having a busy family makes it hard to have a nice family dinner when everyone is on the run. One of my favorite "mother's little helpers" is Chicken Power. The first thing you notice at Chicken Power is how wonderful it smells when you get out of the car. When you go into Chicken Power you'll see an open kitchen concept. If you haven't been to Ciro's Tavern on Cherry in Woonsocket you don't know what you're missing. Often dubbed "Woonsocket's best kept secret," it far exceeded my expectations.
