Why would you question ,when you already know the answer.

Will there be free cocktails and snacks? We need to have a slogan, here's one. SEND THEM BACK, SEND Read MoreTHEM BACK, SEND THEM BACK, or another idea I have, Im going to get some of my tattoo artist friends to show up, so we can tattoo, print a number on their forehead, so we can document them. This way after we send them back, and they show up again we will have already have documented them. I say we do a numbering system like the library uses.

If Woonsocket had some kind of plan and something to market, then I would recommend outsourcing aRead Morene w website. For instance, take Providence, dates and times for events like Waterfire are important to showcase since they've become a cultural hub and tourism is profitable. A business directory, traffic alerts, and online transactions make a full service website vital for managing growing city. Woonsocket is not in that category. People would rather cram their car into an undersized parking lot, cross a busy street with heavy blindspots, walk up two flights of stairs, and wait in line to pay a bill. There is nothing to market, therefore there is no measurable value to a new website.

It's time Bob Picard stopped upsetting the senior citizens. SHAME ON YOU. Stop shaking your head no Read Moreand sit down with the administration. What part of we're making cuts don't you understand. The Mayor has always supported the senior citizens so stop your nonsense.

KS, for once we're seeing eye to eye here. If you look at the overhead of this facility, it'sRead Moreamazin g they can't pay their own utilities! I haven't seen one response to my yearly budget or headcount numbers of this facility, or their work hours to boot. And they can't cut 5%? What questions were brought up when they made their budget proposal to the City Council, NONE! The City Council is totally clueless when it comes to expendatures. But I guess we wouldn't expect anything less from a government run facilities right? Again, unreal...........

Yea, the mailman's doing a great job delivering mail to my door and the local deli's doing a greatRead Morej ob slicing my cold cuts to just the right thickness. Bottom line...they're doing what they're being paid to do, no more, no less. We've got saints everywhere in Woonsocket and they come with a very high price tag.
Woony the Pooh July 15, 2014 at 10:03 AM
Nelson - these streets that were recently striped have been neglected for years and years. As wellRead Morea s the warn out sidewalk crossings. Nobody was making under the belt comments. But now that you are negative as usual - I guess whoever held that roll before wasn't 'doing what they were paid to do'. Streets weren't swept until Fall, the equipment was left to depreciate, the roads slowly got to the point where they are now and all the lines in the road disappeared. That's a fact, not an opinion. Good thing LBH can have people actually do what she hired them for. Point proven between the old and new.

^There's my point again. Municipal finance. The city doesn't get revenue directly from activeRead Morebusine sses. The city taxes the commercial property that the business occupies. The vacant Lowes and Walmart is still generating 100% of the taxes it used to. Same thing with apartments, even if you have a vacancy, you are still paying the same property tax. Now, if you want to make a case for indirectly stimulating the local economy and securing future finances, then we have a discussion.

If we can draw in 1 or 2 more restaurants like a Panera or Olive Garden then that would help boostRead Moreo ur Meals and Sales tax revs. People in Woonsocket love to eat we know that.

The beauty of what Heavy G just did, is he brought his concern up in a discussion forum. He didn'tRead Moreh op on the mic and yell at the city council, then angrily wait for a response to a question that can't simply be answered. This would be a great opportunity for the Woonsocket Tax Coalition to educate the citizens on this kind of stuff. Their last advertised meeting was 2012, when they tried to sue the city.

I may be confused, but this is a picture of a naked girl. More naked women, ,IM ALL FOR THAT. ButRead Morewo uld life really be easier if naked women were walking around the city all naked? I personally feel this would cause more problems than what its worth. I say everyone keep their cloths on, and only take them off to take a shower. I would suggest Yvette that you do stop using incomplete sentences in your titles.

I've said it before, I actually appreciate Russell's point of view. I don't always agree, but atRead Morelea st he seems to back it up with some sort of logic or insight...even if he is grasping at straws. He is blunt, direct, and often rude, and if you don't know that by now then i question your ability to reason. With that said, ever since Yvette jumped ship, she has posted nothing but empty rhetoric. How many times do we need to here how evil the mayor is, how liberals are poisoning the Earth, and that life in Massachusetts is 107 times easier and cheaper than living in the Woon. At this point it would make sense for Yvette to go team up with the anti-pit bull guy so I can just skip both pieces of garbage at the same time. Otherwise, if you have something constructive to add...by all means. Until then, be ready for Russell to fire back at your pathetic lobs for attention.

Everyone reading and posting here should understand that there are very sensible reasons for ourRead Moreimm igration laws. That there is a huge difference between "legal" and "illegal immigration". That illegal immigration IS illegal and nullifies to the very good reasoning for the laws having been established. The U.S., like every other country on earth, has established immigration laws to protect the sovereignty of the country as well as meet the wants and needs of the country and its citizens. Our immigration laws need to be enforced. Can the process for legal immigration be streamlined and improved? From what I hear there is plenty of room for improvement. Should our immigration laws be scrapped our ignored because they are not perfect? Not just NO, but HELL NO!

And make Woonsocket a bedroom community for people who commute to providence. And if that works we can have the train go to Worcester and save the city. And how about we don’t pay for the medical and Dental expenses for retired city employees that has been promised. We have this thing now called Obamacare they can get that. Stay classy Woonsocket!!
