Tornado Watch in Effect for Rhode Island

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for all of Rhode Island.

There is a tornado watch in effect.

The National Weather Service issued the watch around 3:30 p.m. and said it will be in effect until 9 p.m. as severe thunderstorms move through the area.

The storms could contain heavy downpours that will cause localized flooding, the weather service said.

The weather service also issued a flood advisory and cautioned motorists to not drive into areas where water covers the road.

"The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground," the weather service said.

Lets see if the will be a run on the milk stores. Better yet, knock on the doors of NGrid to see if they are still around. It is a Friday afterall - that bunch headed for the hills when the skys started to get dark.
