Today: In Like a Lion, Karaoke, Dinner Dance and Wilt
It's the first day of March - here are some things to bear in mind.
Have a thrilling Thursday, Woonsocket, and check out today's things to know:
Snow - March came in like a lion yesterday, and it'll still be making some noise as a winter storm winds down this afternoon. There's a winter storm watch in effect until 6 p.m.
Karaoke in the city - It's a night for belting out your favorite song, amplified by microphone, before a hopefully appreciative crowd of friends and barflies. Will the muse be with you? Find out tonight at one of three venues: Karaoke with Steven Rondeau at 77 Restaurant and Pub, Karaoke at Vino's or Back Alley Pub Karaoke Nights.
Get Dinner Dance tickets now: The Harris Elementary Playground Committee is sponsoring a Dinner Dance / Silent Auction at the Coachmen’s Lodge, Bellingham, MA March 3 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 ( no tickets will be sold at the door) To purchase tickets, contact Mrs. Carnes, Room 104, (lcarnes@woonsocketschools.com).
Castle reopens tomorrow - Castle Luncheonette was closed for a few weeks for some renovations, but they re-open this morning at 11 a.m., just in time for the lenten specials.
Wilt the Stilt: On this day in 1972, Wilt Chamberlain became the first NBA player to score 30,000 points, according to Brainyhistory.com.
