State Police Traffic Stops, Crash Response, Lead to Arrests

Providence Man arrested on Woonsocket Police warrant

On April 10 at 2:07 p.m., Troopers arrested Jason Reed, age 24, 38 Taylor St., 1st Floor, Providence, RI for a 6th District Court Warrant for Failure To Appear for Ability To Pay on a charge of Driving With a Suspended License originating out of the Woonsocket Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Manton Avenue in Providence. Reed was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and transported to 6th District Court.

On April 10 At 7:13 a.m., Troopers arrested Albert Lapierre, age 38, of 24 Logee Street, Woonsocket, RI, for a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for FTA for ATP on a Misdemeanor Shoplifting charge originating from the North Smithfield Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 99 in the Town of Lincoln. Lapierre was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and was then transported to Sixth District Court.

Car crash on Rte. 146 leads to two arrests

On April 9 at 4:43 p.m., Troopers arrested Elliot Ethier, age 29, of 127 Chestnut Street, Lincoln, RI for 1) OSL (operating on a suspended license), and Joseph Pena, age 31, of 719 Front Street, Woonsocket, RI for 1) 6th District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Ability to Pay, on a charge of Fraudulent Check Under $1,000, originating out of the Woonsocket Police Department 2) OSL.

The arrests were the result of a call for service and a subsequent motor vehicle crash investigation on Rte. 146 South, in the Town of Lincoln. Ethier was summoned to appear at 3rd District Court and released at the scene. Pena was released from custody after being special arraigned at Landmark Medical Center by JP McCaffery.

Vehicle stop prompts arrest on warrant for failure to appear at violation of protective order hearing

On April 9 at 12:48 a.m., Troopers arrested Steven Velez, age 21, of 366 Dulude Avenue, Apartment 1, Woonsocket, RI for 1) 6th District Court Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Technical Violation Hearing, on a charge of Violation of Protective Order, 2) 6th District Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Technical Violation Hearing, on a charge of Violation of Protective Order, 3) 6th District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment, on a charge of Driving With a Suspended License.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Hamlet Avenue in the City of Woonsocket. Velez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed and turned over to ACI intake.
