Police Log: Young Woman Arrested For Assaulting Girl Walking Home From School

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On Nov. 26, Woonsocket Police arrested Ariana Isabelle, 18, of 327 River St., apt. 2FL, at 10:35 a.m., after a girl reported she had been attacked, stalked and attacked again walking home from school Nov. 5.

Witnesses backed up the story, according to a police report, including providing a cell phone video recording of one of the attacks.

On Nov. 5, Woonsocket Police Officer Scott Breuguet responded to a Second Ave. home to speak with a girl and her mother who said the girl had been attacked by Isabelle while walking home from school that day.

The girl said she and her friends were walking home from school when Isabelle approached her from behind, pulled her down by her backpack and attempted to hit her. Several friends broke the two girls apart, she said, and she tried to walk away, but Isabelle kept following her and trying to fight.

The girl retreated into an apartment on Cumberland Street and stayed inside for several minutes before stepping back outside and attempting to get home across the footbridge on Cumberland Street. The girl heard someone running behind her and she was pulled to the ground by her backpack again, after which Isabelle jumped on her, kicking her in the stomach.

The girl's sister and her friend confirmed the story and said one of their friends had recorded a video of the attack on a cell phone, which they would provide a copy of.

Police arrested Isabelle Nov. 26, charging her with simple assault.

You mean to tell me that slapping a uniform on this girl didn't change her whole demeanor? But the school department and the city council said it would!

School department? Try School Committee... you know, the folks who have never worked in a school ever, let alone in Woonsocket, but think their suggestions will save the world? Fools.

Evidentally this girl has anger management issues. Please don't slap her hand and think she will change. Sometimes an abuser is abused and sometimes there's deeper issues. I hope this problem is taken care of.
