The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

"What she said"

James Blackall, 50, of 420 Rathbun St. was arrested at home at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday morning for domestic assault, domestic disorderly conduct and refusal to relinquish a telephone after police went to investigate two 911 hang-ups from the residence. Upon arrival, officers heard yelling before the door was answered by a 48-year-old female that identified herself as the caller.

The woman, who was crying and shaking according to reports, said she was Blackall's girlfriend of four years and that they'd had an argument. She said Blackall had been drinking beers all night and that he became enraged when she wouldn't give him the keys to the tractor-trailer. The victim said her boyfriend proceeded to rip down a plastic room divider, broke their Christmas tree and threw oranges along with "anything else he could find." She said he then pinned her down, refusing to let her leave, and ripped the phone from the wall when she attempted to call 911. She said she plugged it back in, again trying to call for help, but Blackall smashed the phone, breaking it.

Troy Minnis, 31, of 169 Sixth Ave. was arrested at home at 1:09 p.m. on Tuesday for domestic simple assault and larceny under $500. A 28-year-old woman reportedly went to the police station and said that Minnis, her boyfriend of five years, had attacked her after an argument which started because she did not want him to go to a bar.

The victim said Minnis had pulled her hair, pushing her around, then took her phone and grabbed $100 out of her wallet. Reports state that the woman ran a hand through her hair and showed officers a large chunk that came out. She said Minnis eventually gave her the money back, but the phone was not found.
