Police Log: Reckless Roller Blader Arrested On Warrant

This information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On Sept. 10 at 11:30 p.m. a Woosocket Police officer patrolling in the area of School Street observed a man on roller blades passing through the intersection at Pond Street without stopping.

While the roller blader was going through the intersection, he was almost struck by a vehicle, and made a gesture at the driver, who had the right of way. The officer called to the man and asked him to stop.

As the officer approached, the man made a derogatory remark about police in the city, saying "You stopped me for no reason."

The officer told him he'd stopped him to encourage safer roller blade habits, and asked him to take off the roller blades and sit on the curb. He asked for the man's identifcation and the roller blader produced a Philadelphia, PA license.
