Police Log: Detectives Arrest Woman For Burglary Of Roommate's Parent's House
The following information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Woonsocket Detectives heard two women's voices coming from the home at 322 Paradis Ave., Apt. 1 when they showed up looking for Victoria Fusco, 22, a suspect in a Jan. 29 Glen Road burglary.
But when Fusco's roommate, Emily Levasseur, 22, answered the door, she said the woman wasn't at home. Police searched the home, locating Fusco in the second floor bedroom, according to Detective Sgt. Kevin Greenough's report.
Levasseaur was arrested and charged with obstructing police. Fusco was arrested for the burglary of 147 Glen Road, the home of Levasseur's parents, Paul and Annette.
The report of that break-in was received by police at 4:51 p.m. Jan. 19, according to the report of Officer David Bibeault. According to the report, Paul was in the upstairs shower when he heard someone moving items around the downstairs living room. He called out to whomever was there but received no reply. When he went downstairs to check on the noise, he didn't notice anything wrong, but when he returned from an errand later that day, realized interior shutters had fallen from a window, clothing was missing and about $100 had been taken from a drawer.
When police spoke with his wife, Annette, she told them that several items of jewelry had been taken from the home, which had a combined total value of about $17,000. The couple said they'd moved into the home during Thanksgiving and didn't have any ideas on possible suspects.
Annete gave police a list of the items, and detectives were able to identify them on a website required for pawnshops to list jewelry brought to their stores to identify Fusco as the theif when she took the jewelry to Mr. Pawn, also known as The Gold Advance Company on Bernon Street, according to Information Officer Det. Jamie Paone.
Fusco was charged with receiving stolen goods, breaking and entering, and conspiracy, all felonies.
